Just to bring keep everybody up-to-date, my Uncle Rich landed JUST SHORT of 24 hours. The unofficial time was 23 hours, 13 minutes. Temperatures got as low as -20 degrees on the ground, I don't even want to think about spending 24 hours aloft in a balloon following the current around.
ew.
I also just found out that some Chicago schools closed due to cold temperatures. seemed odd.
